Ms Christina Zakeyo

Christina Zakeyo is an experienced trade expert who has worked in the Ministry of Trade for over 20 years. She has risen through the ranks and echelons of the Ministry of Trade up to the apex as Secretary for Trade and Industry.

Prior to assuming the commanding office of the Secretary for Trade and Industry, Christina as a seasoned Trade Negotiator led Malawi Government delegations to numerous bilateral, regional, continental, and multilateral trade negotiations. Her other senior responsibilities included formulating trade policies and engaging the private sector and civil society on trade policy matters.

Christina holds a Master’s Degree in Customs Administration (MCA) obtained from the University of Muenster in Germany. Professionally, she is an accomplished Trade Policy Expert acknowledged in the multilateral trading system of the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
